English 2 – Language Arts - 1 credit
*This is a required one credit course focusing on literary elements and their application in terms of author's style and background both current and historically. Ultimately, students need to be able to discuss an author's purpose for what they write and support their opinion with evidence from the text. We read various forms of literature including novels, nonfiction, short stories, and poetry. Students are expected to use new vocabulary in context with writing skills and there is an emphasis on learning the differences between creative and technical writing.
